The client's name has been changed.

Let's call the client Roman. After the emergency opening, he became interested:

“Can you show me exactly how these locks open?”

The interest is understandable. But there is a line between explaining the work done and providing detailed training on how to bypass security systems. The materials provided include professional communities and training for craftsmen, where tools, practices and features of working with different mechanisms are discussed.

This level of detail is not needed for customer service.

What the master can fully explain

For example:

  • why the malfunction occurred;
  • which element failed;
  • is it possible to continue using the lock;
  • what will need to be replaced;
  • how to prevent the problem from recurring.

This information is enough for the client to make a decision.

What does not have to be demonstrated

No need to show publicly:

  • detailed bypass techniques;
  • specific tools;
  • vulnerabilities of a specific system;
  • step-by-step methods of opening.

This does not improve the owner's safety in any way.

Why this has to do with professional ethics

The wizard works specifically with access restriction systems. Therefore, some professional knowledge is by nature sensitive. The responsible approach is to use this knowledge for legitimate work, and not turn it into instructions for everyone.

How then can the client be convinced of the quality of the work?

Based on results and transparency: *reason explained; *Access rights have been checked.

  • the door is open;
  • damage is minimized;
  • further actions are clear;

It is not necessary to know every technical detail of the process.

Openness with the client is important. But openness does not mean publishing step-by-step instructions for overcoming defense mechanisms.
