Let's call the client Paul. When returning home, the key easily opened the door. But in the evening, when trying to close the apartment, there was noticeable resistance.
Pavel was surprised:
“If the mechanism opens properly, why doesn’t it want to close?”
Because opening and closing can occur under different loads on the door.
What may be different
For example: *handle condition.
- position of the door leaf;
- seal pressure;
- position of the crossbars relative to the counterpart;
Why is it important to check the lock when the door is open
If with the door open it is equally easy:
- opens;
- closes,
the mechanism itself may be working properly.
What does resistance mean when locked only?
It's often worth checking:
- how accurately the crossbars fit into the box;
- do you have to press the door;
- whether the response part has moved.
Do I need to keep turning the key more?
If the resistance has clearly increased compared to the past, it is better not to turn the extra effort into a permanent habit. In the original materials, misuse and excessive force are among the factors that can cause additional damage.
