Let's call the client Anton. The new lock was installed recently, but almost immediately began to work hard. A question has arisen:
“Maybe I just got a bad model?”
Maybe. But first you should check the installation.
A working lock should work without excessive force
This is one of the most useful guidelines. If the new mechanism requires from the first day:
- pressure on the door;
- strong turn of the key;
- special handle position,
you need to look for the reason.
Lock position matters
The specific mechanism must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's design. Incorrect orientation or improper fit may:
- increase wear;
- disrupt the operation of internal elements;
- create instability.
The geometry of the crossbars is especially important
They should fit freely into the counter holes. If the door closes only after applying force, the mechanism experiences extra stress every day.
What to check after installation
First: open door. Then: closed door. In both cases, the operation must remain predictable and smooth.
