The client's name has been changed.
Let's call the client Oleg. After replacing the cylinder, the new key worked. Once the door opened and closed normally. It seemed that the work was completed.
But it is better to check a good result with more than one attempt.
Why one turn is not enough
After installation, it is important to ensure that:
- the key enters normally;
- rotates freely;
- normally extracted;
- both sets of keys work;
- the mechanism works externally and internally;
- the door closes normally.
If the cylinder is installed correctly, operation should be stable.
Why you need to check with the door closed
The mechanism can work perfectly with the door open, but after closing the load appears. Therefore it is useful to check: 1. open door; 2. closed door; 3. several full cycles.
What else to check
If the cylinder is double-sided, it is worth clarifying:
- how it behaves when the key is inserted from the other side;
- is there an emergency opening function;
- whether it meets the owner's expectations.
Why is it better to do this right away?
If a problem is discovered by a technician, it can be checked on site. It is much worse to notice in the evening that the new cylinder: *does not close full turn.
- has a snack;
- works with only one key;
