Let's call the client Vladimir. The safe worked without problems for several years. Then the door began to close worse, and the key sometimes required more force.
A question has arisen:
“Is the lock already broken or is the door just a little warped?”
Both options are possible.
Typical signs of a problem
For example:
- the door does not close tightly;
- the key does not go in all the way;
- the key enters but does not rotate;
- the door began to move differently;
- the electronic system does not respond as before.
Why the reason is not always in the lock itself
The problem may be related to:
- adjusting the safe door;
- mechanical wear;
- damage to the key;
- foreign object;
- electronic part.
Therefore, diagnosis is needed first.
Why it is better not to disassemble the safe yourself
The safe is designed precisely to limit access to the internal mechanisms. An unsuccessful intervention may:
- finally block the lock;
- damage the contents;
- make further repairs more difficult.
What is important to report
Good to know:
- manufacturer;
- model;
- lock type;
- what has changed in work;
- is there a regular backup method of access.
Not every safe failure requires the case to be destroyed. But the fewer independent experiments before diagnosis, the higher the chance of saving the system.
